The northernmost district of Kerala, Kasaragod will play an integral role in manufacturing coaches for the Vande Bharat Express. Kasaragod will now manufacture floors, toilet doors, and berths for coaches in the upcoming Vande Bharat sleeper trains. Magnus Plywoods, headquartered in Punjab Khanna, is setting up a plant at Ananthapuram Industrial Park of the District Industrial Centre.
An MoU w signed with the Industries Department for this. Two North Indian companies manufacturing particle board are also planning to start their venture in Ananthapuram. Magnus Plywoods has been operating in the transport and interior construction sector for the last three decades. Magnus manufactu partition plywood panels and coach floor plank toilet boards for the Railway’s Kapurthala Coach Factory and Rae Bareli Modern Coach Factory.
As of now, Vande Bharat trains provide chair car services across India. Soon, the sleeper coaches for this elite train will hit the track. This demands stro rakes for the train. To meet the demand, stronger plywood boards will be delivered to Chennai’s integral coach factory from Kasaragod. The plant in Kasaragod will provide Compreg, Plywood, Prelaminated Sheet, LP Sheet, and Soundproofing Boards, which are durable for years and res fire and chemicals.
