Brownwood: An influential and experimental design brand

How has the industrial design background influenced your furniture design?

Given that many exceptional furniture designers have backgrounds in industrial design, which seems to be a very natural progression, I believe industrial design provides a very good basis for furniture design. The main difference is that furniture has a deeper interaction with people than the digital items I previously produced because individuals physically touch various types of furniture every day.

There are plenty of new emerging Designer brands of wooden furniture, what sets you apart?

There are undoubtedly many new brands, but my theory is that, like people, companies develop their distinctive styles over time as long as they concentrate on enhancing their own qualities rather than imitating those of others. We will not focus on the market; all we want to do is create durable objects that reflect our unique aesthetics. We don’t place restrictions on a certain design element or feature because they change as we advance.

A wide range of innovative materials are available. How do you see competition in the field of innovation? How much room is there for advancement in woodworking machines?

We will be addressing the current trends and style element by using the latest inventive materials that are accessible, which I feel is very much required and significant. I also believe that in order to highlight the product’s excellent quality, we must use advanced machinery.

What are the various wood species that you use in your wooden furniture pieces?

The antique recovered wood has a unique character. It’s incredible to see the salvaged materials taking on new shapes and living longer. Additionally, I enjoy using burnt-black finished white ash wood since it highlights natural wood’s lovely grains and feel.

Environmental issues are more important now than ever. What does sustainability mean to you?

Nowadays, participation in green projects is almost required for any successful firm due to the radical changes in views toward sustainability. Every industry must change to meet the demands of consumers around the world who want sustainable products in a range of fields. Customers for furniture are no different, and environmentally friendly furniture has grown in popularity as a product for homes, offices, and entertainment venues. Companies that incorporate sustainability into the core of their strategy are better positioned to generate value and promote firm longevity at this moment in time. Sustainability is becoming a top priority for supply chains across all industries, including the furniture industry, as the demands on corporate responsibility rise and transparency becomes more widespread.
