The Altendorf Group from Minden is the world market leader in the manufacture of premium sliding table saws and edge banding machines. The company has now received the internationally renowned World Technology Leader Award.
Altendorf was awarded for its revolutionary HAND GUARD system, the world’s first and only certified and AI-based safety assistance system for sliding table saws. Two cameras monitor a large area around the saw blade. If a hand is detected and gets too close to the saw blade, it will stop and shut down in a quarter of a second or less. The saw blade is not damaged and the system is ready for use again after a maximum of 10 seconds. Many customers such as industrial companies from plastic or aluminum processing, educational institutions or carpentry use HAND GUARD to increase safety in operation. HAND GUARD is an important pillar in Altendorf’s commitment to safety and innovation. The Altendorf Group will continue its efforts to make working with wood and other materials safer and more efficient for professionals around the world. HAND GUARD is available through the Altendorf Group’s worldwide dealer network.
