Govt says CFC Wooden Furniture Cluster in Toluvi near completion

The Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC) has informed that the Common Facility Centre (CFC) Wooden Furniture Cluster at Toluvi, Dimapur, is nearing completion, with significant progress reported during a joint verification conducted on January 18, 2025.

Civil works for the project are almost complete, with 95% of the construction finished, the press release stated. It added that machinery procurement is proceeding as per the Ministry of MSME’s final approval, and 60% of the required equipment has already been delivered. Orders for the remaining machinery have been placed, with some items currently in transit. Component-wise expenditure details have been verified and found to be accurate, it added.

The project, which is being implemented under the MSE-CDP Scheme, involves an investment of ₹10.16 crore. The funding pattern includes contributions from the Ministry of MSME, Government of India (80%), the Government of Nagaland (10%), and the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) – CCDS (10%). It is designed to provide local furniture units with access to shared resources, aiming to enhance productivity and efficiency within the industry.

During the inspection, the project was reviewed by NIDC Chairman Kvulo Lorin, Commissioner and Secretary of Industries and Commerce Shanavas C (IAS), Director of Industries and Commerce P. Tokugha Sema, and officials from the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, NIDC Ltd, Ministry of MSME-DI, and the Engineering Wing of the Directorate, alongside SPV members.
